NXE Goes Live
Microsoft has announced that their new Xbox 360 dashboard upgrade, the New Xbox Experience (NXE), will be available to all Xbox Live users on Wednesday, November 19th.
NXE features a host of upgrades, including a new interface that will replace the venerable "Blades" system, party chat for up to seven people, the ability to save games to the hard drive for faster load times and quieter hardware operation, customisable avatars, improved resolution support, and access to a library of entertainment, including Netflix.
The upgrade comes as Microsoft approaches the 25 million mark for Xbox 360 consoles sold worldwide.
"The future of home entertainment is Xbox 360 - it's on demand, it's high definition, it's always social, it's all in one place," said Don Mattrick, senior vice president for the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft. "With the New Xbox Experience we will reach the next generation of Xbox owners, 25 million and beyond. We are at a watershed moment, backed by the largest entertainment brands, with an incredible line up of entertainment unmatched in any industry."
The NXE will be available for free download via Xbox Live from Wednesday, November 19th.
