Activision giving away free guitars

Speaking to MCV, Activision UK has announced what it calls "the biggest pre-order incentive the industry has ever seen" as it prepares to launch Guitar Hero: World Tour in November.

Gamers who decide to pre-order the 'super-bundle', consisting of the game, drum kit, guitar and microphone, will receive a free bass guitar worth £50.

"This programme signals our enormous commitment to Guitar Hero: World Tour," said Activision's marketing director for the UK and Ireland David Tyler.

"Consumers who pre-order the Guitar Hero: World Tour 'super-bundle' from any retailer - either online or in-store - will bag a bonus bass guitar.

"This is a significant investment to reward our loyal fans, ensuring the full band experience is available from the off.

"With demand continuing to outstrip supply, pre-ordering is the only way to assure a copy at launch," said Tyler.

Guitar Hero is already available for pre-order, with the 'super bundle' priced at around £150.

While an official release date has yet to be announced, Activision are aiming for an 'early November' debut.
