Injured Woods getting into gaming

Tiger Woods is currently recovering from surgery to his leg following ligament damage, and says he is using his newfound spare time by "playing a lot more games".

Apparently Woods is only able to walk in a straight line at the moment and won't begin practicing his golf again until the beginning of 2009.

"Oh, man, you have no idea how much I miss it," Woods told USA Today.

"I'm playing a lot more [videogames]," he said. "I play my game and Madden. The guys will come over, and we put $5 in the pot, and it's winner take all."

Tiger's game, of course, is Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 09, and has been topping UK sales charts since its launch last week.

"One thing Tiger does that Madden doesn't is give us a global reach," EA Sports boss Peter Moore told USA Today. "He is one of the pre-eminent athletes in the world, one of the most recognizable human beings in the world, not just an athlete."
