In a move one can only hope will be the start of things to come for the gaming industry, EA is now offering Command & Conquer: Red Alert 1 as a free download.

There's no catch involved, in fact you don't even need to register; all you need to do is go to www.ea.com/redalert/news-detail.jsp?ncc=1&id=62 and hit the download button. After it's done you simply burn the ISO to a CD and you're good to go.

EA is even offering Red Alert 2 for free as well, though you'll have to pre-order Red Alert 3 at participating outlets for that one.
